One to One Training

My one to one training services are offered in 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions. I initially invite the potential client in for a free session, and during this free session you will fill out a health questionnaire. This will give me insight into possible health issues that you may be dealing with which need to be considered when entering into an exercise program. Since health issues and limitations vary from person to person, each client gets their own customized workout in accordance to their own biomechanical structure and abilities. Next the client will be assessed in such areas as joint range of motion and balance. Then we will go through a series of simple exercises and explore what works best for you and the type of program that you would benefit from most.

Group MELT Training

While MELT training is offered on a one on one basis, it is also offered in a group setting. The first step to learning about MELT is through a one hour introductory class. This class will introduce you to the MELT hand and foot treatments and allow you to experience how easy it is to create change in your body regarding misalignment, chronic pain, and the negative effects associated with aging. Different from going to a therapist for bodywork, MELT empowers people with simple, self-care tools for long term wellness. We will explore how to reacquire whole-body balance by directly affecting the cellular hydration of the connective tissue matrix using Hands-Off Bodywork. Find out the root cause of body aches and experience immediate changes! The MELT Hand and Foot Treatment Techniques are easy to learn, and will help you remain active, healthy and pain-free for life!

Why do I need a personal trainer?

A qualified trainer adds many facets to your workout regimen. Motivation is a key factor when it comes to the longevity of your program. Let’s face it, most of us need to be motivated and very few people out there are self motivators. It is also critical to exercise without creating injury. Proper form is essential to a healthy workout. An understanding of Biomechanics plays a major role in preserving joint integrity. I am trained in biomechanics and will ensure that your workout is safe.

Who are the “mature” clientele?

The mature clientele refers to those who are serious about committing to a program for reasons that go beyond just looks. Fitness starts from the inside. The truth of the matter is as time goes on our metabolic rate slows down, we start to lose muscle mass, joint fluidity diminishes and the tendency to gain weight increases. The mature client has a desire to stay healthy, remain active and improve their quality of life so they can prevent diseases such as Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Osteoporosis and many other illnesses related to age and inactivity. Any one of us stands a chance of dealing with some form of a health issue as a result of neglecting our bodies. Some of us, unfortunately, are already there, while some have already taken on the responsibility of committing to a healthier lifestyle and are all the better for doing so.

What if you’re already suffering from a debilitating disease?

People with compromised health benefit greatly from an exercise program. I am certified to work with clients who may be suffering in these areas. There is no age limit when it comes to wanting better health. Anything can be accomplished at any age. It’s NEVER too late. All you need is the right guidance and a belief that it can happen.

Biomechanics: What does this mean to me?

Biomechanics is the study of the mechanical laws relating to the movement or structure of living organisms. In other words, in relation to personal training, it is the application of movement based on a clients structure, function and goal. A workout that adheres to the principles of good biomechanics means you get a workout that is efficient, safe and does not compromise your joints, muscles or bone structure. Many trainers in the fitness industry have a “one size fits all” type of mind set. Every person is different and their workout should be as well. The study of biomechanics is the foundation of my business.
